The University of Kurdistan and the Provincial General Directorate of Natural Resources and Watershed Management have signed a joint cooperation agreement aimed at the conservation, restoration, and sustainable utilization of natural resources, as well as the enhancement of research and implementation-focused collaboration. This agreement places a special emphasis on the natural ecosystems of the Marivan region.

Cooperation Agreement Signed Between the University of Kurdistan and the Provincial Directorate of Natural Resources

According to the Public Relations Office of the University of Kurdistan, a scientific and executive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in a ceremony attended by the university's president and officials, alongside the Director-General and experts from the Provincial Directorate of Natural Resources and Watershed Management. The agreement emphasizes creating synergy in scientific research, applied studies, decision-making processes for relevant projects, and addressing challenges in the field of natural resources.

During the meeting, the allocation of suitable lands for educational, research, and greenhouse complex development was also discussed. Based on the agreement, two plots of land, 18 and 17 hectares respectively, located near the Vahdat Dam in Sanandaj, and a six-hectare plot in Marivan will be allocated to the University of Kurdistan. Furthermore, it was decided to follow up on the land allocation for the university's International Campus in Marivan to develop forest cover and implement research and executive projects.
