The Department of Soil Science and Engineering at the University of Kurdistan actively participates in applied and interdisciplinary research projects to address environmental issues, natural resource management, and sustainable agricultural development. - Monitoring of the Surface Water Collection and Conveyance System with a Topographic Analysis Approach: This project, conducted within the central urban area of Sanandaj as part of a domestic sabbatical, focuses on analyzing urban hydrological patterns using topographic data and GIS.
- Estimation of River Discharge and Temporal Monitoring Using Remote Sensing: A collaborative project with a faculty member from the Department of Water Science and Engineering, supported by the Kurdistan Regional Water Authority (under the SATEC program), which aims to model temporal changes in surface flows using satellite imagery and advanced data analysis algorithms.
- Comprehensive Study of Water Quality Management in the Lake Urmia Basin (Kurdistan Province Section): This joint project involves members from the Departments of Soil Science and Engineering, Water Engineering, and the Faculty of Natural Resources. It aims to assess water resource quality and propose sustainable watershed management solutions. The project is commissioned by the Kurdistan Regional Water Authority.
- Implementation of interdisciplinary projects in the fields of soil conservation, water resource management, and sustainable agriculture.
